Song of the Week

Sun Kil Moon will officially release Benji next week, the sixth studio album from Mark Kozelek's alter ego.  (Enjoy an interview here).  Having already lived with the record for the last month, the early reviews have been unsuprising to The D Man, as critics have been justifiably astonished by the record's arresting, deeply-personal artistry.

Benji is powerful, poignant, funny, and devastating.  No doubt "Ben's My Friend" is an incredible closer, and "Richard Ramirez Died of Natural Causes" is a killer track, but man, "Carissa" has been hanging with The D Man for weeks.
