Five Things
(My Morning Jacket)
The D Man was disappointed when the Twin Shadow concert was canceled. The band's tour buses
were involved in a fog-riddled crash outside of Denver. George Lewis had to have constructive surgery on his left hand and his drummer is still in the hospital. Thankfully, we have had a recent slate of albums drop, and the tunes have been solid.
- Enjoy this deep cut from The Waterfall. My Morning Jacket. Get some.
- The D Man didn't dig Courtney Barnett's first single from her critically-acclaimed debut, Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit. But "Depreston" is a washed out, alt-country croon worth paying attention.
- Tame Impala's "Let It Happen" has caught me via hypnosis, especially the back half of the psyche-groove track.
- "Electric Current" is another cool late-night track from Lower Dens' Escape from Evil.
- Check out the video for "Lonesome Street," a single from Blur's The Magic Whip.
