Classic D Man

I was a short fuse, burning all the time.  You were a complete stranger, now you are mine.  This line before the chorus, with its subtle but striking melody, has been circling in my head for days.  "Regret" is a brilliant song and quite unlike anything in New Order's expansive canon, arriving at the later stages of their best creative period.

Tonight, however, it was not its usual nostalgia that grabbed hold of my collar and shook me. As I reached over to hug my son after he climbed in the front seat of the car, his rosy cheeks and sweaty hair a nod to the final basketball game of the season, the song served as a backdrop to nothing short of living in the moment, no regrets in sight.
