Blitzen Trapper's Sub Pop debut is ramshackle Americana. Although that description is overused, it describes in some measure the sound of "Furr," the album's title track. After last year's wide-ranging Wild Mountain Nation, the band has honed its sound and arrived at a more focused and pleasing record. As for the fan video, well, some dude in Bloomington, Indiana filmed himself on a bike riding home. Then he set it to Blitzen Trapper. Good enough for The D Man.October 29, 2008
